Our theme this year is DEEP HEALING. We will share profound Dances that immerse us in the power and beauty of sacred phrases from the world’s spiritual traditions. The mysticism of sound is an approach to tuning the heart, cultivating our capacity to experience love, joy, healing and peace in our own beings, interpersonally and in the world.

The afternoons will be a time for rest, integration, contemplation of the natural world, and opportunities to give and receive healing in a variety of modalities. This is a not-for-profit event; fees cover costs and any surplus goes to further the work of the Dances.

 

Camp Fletcher is on 18.5 hectares of land overlooking Lyre Bird Glen, merging into the Blue Mountains National Park. There is a variety of bushwalks for all fitness levels, and a beautiful waterfall nearby. We will sleep in rustic cabins and eat vegetarian meals, beginning with dinner Friday night and ending after lunch on Monday.

The retreat is an exploration of the healing power of sound, with intensive immersion in the healing qualities of sacred words, mantras and ancient chants.  Within this approach, movement is experienced as a kind of language: healing vibration expressing itself through the body. Harmonious, rhythmic movement - dance - becomes a beautiful invocation of sacred Presence, an impulse towards wholeness and integration.
