Fattah FundThe Fattah Fund is a separate body of money within the Dances Of Universal Peace Australia bank account. It was originally designated to assist members of the Australian Network to attend retreats within Australia, and possibly overseas. Guidelines were accepted in 1999, and are available. The following comprises revised, 2004 guidelines to match the needs and visions of the Australian network as it is progressing currently.Current forms of income1. annual contribution of $10 per individual dancer taken from the membership fee. This means all members are contributing to the fund, and this input makes a continuous fund separate from the General Expenses, demonstrating it as community assisting community. 2. Special donations made specifically to the Fattah Fund. 3. Other possible fundraisers.
PurposesPurpose 1 To assist members of the Australian Network of the Dances of Universal Peace, to attend retreats, within or possibly outside Australia. Purpose 2 To assist in travel and other costs for Dance Leaders to lead day or weekend long events, in areas within Australia where there are new, or no Dance circles. Purpose 3 To assist Dance Leaders who supervise or Mentor Dance Leaders in Training, in areas far from them, to travel and lead training programs.
Criteria1. All requests will be treated with absolute confidentiality within the sub-committee. 2. Requests for assistance from the fund are restricted to members of the Australian Network of the Dances of Universal Peace 3. Requests for purposes 2 and 3 need to discuss sustainability and applicants need to be supervised Dance Leaders. 4. Applicants need to make their requests to the Fattah Fund on the application form. 5. The cut-off date for requests for Purpose 1 is 3-4 weeks prior to the event, and for Purposes 2 & 3, 8-10 weeks prior. 6. Members of the sub-committee may not participate in the division of funding, which includes requests either from themselves, their relatives or their partners. 7. Fattah Fund to offer report to AGM stating: v Number of applications v Total monies granted v (Purpose 1) - events attended v (Purpose 2) - location/events of young circles hosting visiting dance leader v (Purpose 3) - location/events of mentoring/supervisory training *Note: 'event' means, for example: 'weekend retreat in Holy Woods' or 'three day training program in Hidden Mountain. 8. Feedback be requested from all successful Fattah Fund applicants in the form of: v A brief written/visual report and/or v DUPOZ journal entry, with particular mention on sustainability for applications relating to young circle development and mentor/supervisor training.
